Notes
Important: There is no single Nintendo eShop Card guaranteed to work worldwide. The card’s country, region or currency must match the Nintendo Account’s eShop settings.
In some European markets, a Nintendo eShop Card can be used in another supported country that uses the same currency. For example, a euro-denominated card purchased in France may work with eligible euro-based Nintendo eShop countries. Compatibility should still be confirmed before purchase.
U.S., Canadian, Mexican, Japanese, Australian and other regional cards are separate products and are not interchangeable. Nintendo does not exchange or refund cards purchased for the wrong region.
Nintendo eShop balances do not carry over when the Nintendo Account country is changed. Any remaining balance may need to be spent before the country setting can be updated.
Nintendo eShop Cards are for prepaid funds. Do not confuse them with game download codes, Nintendo Switch Online membership codes or Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers, which follow different rules.
Quick FAQ
Can I use a Nintendo eShop Card in any country?
No. The code must be compatible with the Nintendo Account’s country, region and currency. Some same-currency European countries may accept the same card, but other regional products are not interchangeable.
Why is my Nintendo eShop code not working?
Confirm that the code was entered correctly, has not already been redeemed and matches the Nintendo Account region. Also check whether adding the card would exceed the maximum permitted account balance.
Does a Nintendo eShop Card expire?
Nintendo’s official terms state that the code balance does not expire. Check the regional conditions supplied with the selected card before purchasing.
